The SEMON product range features a variety of wheel series available in different designs, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), plastics, and metals. Additionally, polyurethane wheels are offered in a dissipative version for tread material, including Extra Heavy Duty SS Caster, SS caster Antistatic wheel, TPU Wheel Pin type, and TPU Wheel stud type.
A wheel or caster is considered electrically conductive according to standards for wheels and casters if its ohmic resistance does not exceed 10^4 ohms. A wheel or caster is regarded as having antistatic properties if its ohmic resistance does not exceed 10^7 ohms.
To ensure these requirements are met, SEMON tests electrically conductive wheels on a special test bench. This guarantees that even in critical applications, any electrostatic potentials can be safely dissipated via the wheels and casters used. However, dirt accumulation on the tread or other environmental influences can negatively affect conductivity during operation. It is recommended that operators check this regularly.
